Sola municipality is located on North Jæren and is along with the rest of the spectacular coast line ofJæren, famous for its elongated sandy beaches with swells for surfing. On these beaches you can swim and surf all year round, and if you want, at sunset.
Behind the dunes at Solastranden, you will find the Sola Activity Center, which offers rental of surf equipment and surf courses for beginners and courses for advanced surfers.
The beaches along Jæren offer what are probably the best surfing conditions in the country. If the waves are too big or messy at on one beach, they can be perfect on another. Amongst the beaches of Jæren we find Hellestø, Vigdel, Bore, Byberg, Refsnes, Brusand, Ogna, Orre, Nærland, Viste, Ølberg, Sola and Sande. The Boretunet at Borestrand has its own surf school and Surfschool has its own surf bus that offers surfing equipment to those interested.
