Domsteinane – a myserious stone circle
In the midst of a dense forest, near the airport, and not far from Sola Beach, you'll find a rare and mysterious stone circle.
Domsteinane is one of Norway's most intriguing ancient monuments. It was first mentioned in 1745 but may possibly date back to 650 BCE. No one knows what Domsteinane was used for. It could have been a burial site, a place of offering, or something entirely different.
Domsteinane is well signposted from Nordsjøvegen, with a parking lot nearby. If you visit, you'll experience silence and a mysterious atmosphere.
